The company is located on easy-to-get-to Bedford Highway and provides office space for each sales associate, ample parking, free wireless Internet, a meeting room, a kitchen and back patio as well as access to computers, phones, photocopying and faxing. Guaranty GMAC Real Estate also works with an in-house mortgage broker meaning your buyers can get mortgage information quickly and easily.
Advantage Training
The Advantage Training program helps new Realtors® learn about the GMAC Real Estate brand on an international level as well as Guaranty GMAC Real Estate here in Halifax. In this initial training program you will learn the basics of a career in real estate sales, what you will need to launch your real estate business and what activities you will need to conduct regularly in order to sustain and grow your business.
In the Advantage Training program you will learn about all the marketing tools and support that are available to you as a sales associate with Guaranty GMAC Real Estate and how to use them to your advantage, to promote yourself and your business.
Classes will also cover topics such as contract law, financing, mortgages and insurance, as well as the basics of how to negotiate.
Through one-on-on meetings with company owner Francis MacDonald and role playing with other sales associates in the office, you will learn about building rapport with prospective clients, working with buyers and sellers, how to handle objections, how to guide the sales process along and when and how to close the deal.
Guaranty Success: Listing & Selling Skills Training
Once you feel comfortable with the basics, it`s time to graduate to the Guaranty Success training program. This program will help you take your new career to the next level teaching you important lessons like telephone prospecting, sourcing your business, hosting successful open houses, converting your leads into appointments and the listing appointment process.
Guaranty Success classes also cover topics such as FSBO (For Sale By Owners) and how to deal with timely issues such as increasing interest and mortgage rates.
You will also learn about time management and how to develop a business plan that will guide you to your annual income level by breaking down exactly how many contacts you will need to make every day and every week in order to hit your goal.
"Check-Up from the Neck Up" Coaching Sessions
Being a non-competing broker with a 30-year history in the industry in Halifax, means that Francis MacDonald has the time to work with the company`s sales associates on a one-on-one basis and can provide you will all the help you need throughout ever stage of your career.
Check-Up from the Neck Up is a unique, in house program in which you spend one-on-one and group time each week with Francis talking about the issues affecting your business and learning what you need to stay on track.
You decide your path and Francis and the rest of the group hold you accountable. You may be in business for yourself, but you are by no means alone. Sharing ideas, strategies, successes and failures in a fun, friendly team environment has already helped Guaranty GMAC Real Estate sales associates to hit their goals. This same approach is used in weekly sales meetings and monthly marketing support meetings. This means you will have the support you need to launch and grow your real estate business.
Annual Business Planning Retreat
Nobody plans to fail but many fail to plan. At a company retreat each year, company owner Francis MacDonald starts the process of helping you to put together your business plan for the year ahead. Looking at your income goals, your prospecting efforts and marketing strategies, you will develop a plan for your business. This plan will be re-evaluated throughout the course of the year in Check-Up from the Neck Up sessions and in one-on-one meetings with Francis.
Monthly Marketing Meeting
Every month Guaranty GMAC sales associates are invited to a marketing meeting run by company owner Francis MacDonald. At these meetings you will learn about all the marketing tools that are available to you as a sales associate with Guaranty GMAC Real Estate and how to implement them into your individual business. At these meetings you can ask questions, share what is working for you and tell the group your goals for the upcoming month. Your teammates will hold you accountable to your goals and share what is working for them as well.
Topics at these meetings range from how to implement the community marketing programs to how to use the new media such as Facebook and Twitter to connect with your clients and build your business.
Weekly Sales Meetings
Every Tuesday morning company owner runs a mandatory sales meeting for the entire sales team. Guaranty GMAC Real Estate sales associates learn about new company initiatives, talk about their listings and report on their buyers. Attending these meetings means you have the opportunity to learn valuable information that will help you to sell more real estate. Going around the room, Guaranty GMAC Real Estate sales associates share what they are working on and what is working for them. Connections are made and buyers and sellers are brought together.
After the sales meeting, everyone hops into cars and heads into the field to visit some of the new listings. Working together and learning from each other means that Guaranty GMAC Real Estate sales associates have the advantage over other Realtors ® in the Halifax market.

You will learn how to be confident handling buyers’ objections and hesitation, setting the right price with sellers, and negotiating offers.
